The cool liquid felt good on his dry throat, he gulped down nearly a pint of water before setting his glass down in the sink, he stared at his now empty hand, first the palm side then the back of it, a thin white band where his wedding ring usually sits shines from his index finger like a lighthouse declaring his infidelity.
A noise behind him disturbs his analysis of his anatomy, "Hey honey." Nicola cooed in hef soft silky voice, he must have distuurbed her when he got out of bed, she stood behind him and threw her arms around him, her hands coming to a stop on his chest, she kissed his back and rested her head against his spine.
"Sorry, I couldn't sleep." He took a long look out of the kitchen window at nothing inparticular before turning around to face his partner.

Four hours earlier, Graham and Nicola were in bed. The first feeble grey light of the dawn seeped through the gap in the curtains. Graham was awake, laying on his back. He had just awoken from a dream in which he was unable to move. His heart was racing and his feet sweaty. Once he had regained his composure and his bearings he looked over at the bedside clock.

6:48

The dust on the clock glowed green, reflecting in his glass, which stood empty next to his glasses. His throat was thick with the night. Nicola was lying with her back to Graham on the other side of the bed, right on the edge. Graham got up, took his glass to the kitchen and filled with it water from the tap.

this is a story

This is a story for you to tell

On the left hand side over there are the log-in details for this blog. Please feel free to log in, and continue the story that has begun.

You can take the story anywhere you like, there are no rules, however we would ask you to please consider the previous posts before moving the story on - it would be nice to have a certain form of continuity.

Feel free to introduce new characters, and new sub-plots, themes, anything - but we'd like to keep the thing as much as a continuous story (that makes sense) as possible.
